When to Go to Laguna de Perlas
The best time to go to Pearl Lagoon is during the dry season, from January to April. On October 30th, the “Fiesta de los Cangrejos,” celebrates the liberation of slaves. There are festivals throughout the whole town, a reenactment of slavery, a pageant to crown ‘Miss Pearl Lagoon,’ complete with judges, prizes and lots of food. The full week of events lasts from October 25th -31st . Of course, as for most places in Nicaragua, Semana Santa (Easter Week) is a full of festivals and celebrations as well.
