Puerto as such offers few real attractions, but just wandering the streets lined with colorful wooden houses, and dipping into the market, with its gnarled fruit and veggies, raw fish and maybe even a gored, chopped-up turtle, can be entertaining if you are fresh off the plane. Other than the Museum Judith Kain, the best way to get to know the local culture is to do an excursion to a nearby indigenous community.
