These two islands: Little Corn and Big Corn are lined with picturesque palm trees and surrounded by beautiful coral reefs covered by crystal-clear water. Little Corn has no electricity or phones, so plan to relax on the beach or climb up the lighthouse for spectacular views. Big Corn, an hour away by dinghy – panga - is a major Nicaraguan vacation spot. Snorkeling is excellent from both islands. Keep your eyes peeled for a Spanish galleon wreck.
Big Corn is best reached by plane from Managua or Bluefields or by boat from Bluefields. The best months are March and April. Credit cards are not accepted on the islands (with the exception of a few high priced hotels) but US dollars are. The local language is English.
