During the day, Big Corn Island is a friendly and tropical paradise. However, at night, there are few streetlights, and the roads can be very dark and vacant. As such, it is recommended to take a cab after nightfall, and not to walk alone. There is a 24-hour police patrol that circles the island frequently. Although violent crime is very rare on the island, it is still important to be cautious, and as always, look out for pickpockets and petty thieves.
