Hotel
Gracie's is the only budget hotel that does not raise its rates based on the number of people in a room, and so is the best deal if you've got a group of three or four (and don't mind sharing a double bed). Check out a few different rooms if you can, some are better, newer and cleaner than others. Also, not all have mosquito nets. Probably the loudest and most raucous of the three hotels. Power normally cuts off at 10 p.m., but their bar is frequently the scene of loud parties lasting well into the night. This comes to the chagrin of some who want to sleep, since the rooms don't have light switches and your light will stay on until they turn off the power (unless you unscrew it).
Travelers beware – this hotel is the main hunting ground for Dennis, the con-artist mentioned in the safety section. Viva's reviewer tried to ascertain why the owners of Gracie's allow him to operate here, but received only an exasperated laugh in response.
