Getting to and away

By Mike Karanicolas

The only transportation to or away from Little Corn is via pangas (mid-sized motorboats) that depart twice daily from the docks headed to Big Corn. They leave Little Corn at 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Pangas depart Big Corn for the return at 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

It should be noted that they don't run on “Caribbean time.”  Show up at precisely 2:02 p.m., and you'll be just in time to see the boat speeding into the horizon. If you miss it but the boat is still in sight, then get to the edge of the dock A.S.A.P. and wave your arms and yell. If they see you, they'll come back for you. The trip costs 110C, as of June 2008, and takes a little under half an hour. It's also VERY bumpy, so try to find something to sit on, if they don't give you a cushion.
