Hiking Mombacho

For an easier day hike outside of Camoapa, consider heading to Mombacho, a forested peak offering beautiful views of the surrounding lowlands. With ideal soil for growing coffee, this mountain is the site of several plantations which can be seen along the hike. The point of entry is located a long the Salida de Sangre de Cristo. Starting at the ENITEL in Camoapa center, head six blocks west until you hit the school; from there make a right and head north until the Salida de Sangre de Cristo which can be recognized by the church of the same name. The hike lasts three to four hours depending on your pace.
