When to go

The region’s climate has a wide range, between 27°C (80°F) and 30°C (86°F) in the summer months, and much cooler in the winter, around 18°C (in the 60s F). The city of Boaco celebrates its patron saint festivals on July 25, with traditional dances passed on since the 17 century. Juigalpa’s patron saint festival in August draws crowds from around the country, and is the biggest party in the region.
