Jardin Zoologico Thomas Belt - Other Activity Juigalpa - Nicaragua

One of two zoos in Nicaragua, and the largest, Thomas Belt will come as a shock to most western travelers. Lions, Jaguars and other large animals dwell lethargically in spare, cement-floored, iron-barred enclosures. The sign which warns that the zoo is not responsible for accidents that may happen to unsupervised children is necessary as most of the animals can easily stick their heads, paws and other extremities from their cages. The gorilla has been known to throw feces at camera-wielding tourists. Consider yourself warned.
