La Capilla María Romero Meneses

This tiny chapel honors a Granada-born nun, María Romero Meneses, who dedicated her life to helping the poor of Costa Rica. For her work, she was beatified in April 2002.

The chapel is nothing special - small and newly constructed. But those who are interested in spirituality or catholicism might find the visit interesting, since it's a good place to learn about the saint herself. The chapel is open for prayer between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The house where Meneses was born, also located in Granada, has been turned into a museum and has more information (in Spanish) on her life and work.
