Best place in Granada

I had the best vacation of my life thanks to the staff at Casa San Francisco. The staff and warm hospitality amazed us, we felt pampered, and cared for, our room was beautiful, the food was excellent and the service we got was unexpected. I will return there as soon as possible. When you go, check out the restaurant at Casa San Francisco, it is fabulous.

Casa San Francisco exceeded all our expectations

We loved the atmosphere, the friendly, knowledgeable staff, the GREAT food, the owners, our room, there was nothing to dislike. We checked out many of the more expensive hotels in town and this was the best.

Caution!

We had the horrible experience of having the hotel staff enter our room while we were out and remove all of our belongings. We had been there for several days. They explained later that they wanted to give the room to somebody else. We were put out on the street like two homeless people in a strange country. We never got a satisfactory explanation. Our reservation was essentially worthless. Our property was rummaged through, stuffed into bags and removed from the room. I'm not sure that we got everything back; some may be missing. We concluded that there is inadequate security at this hotel. Other travelers should be aware.

A miserable experience

With only five days to enjoy Nicaragua, we were eager to like this hotel, although, with flat pillows and a room over the kitchen, it did not quite live up to the great reviews we had read. On the day before we were scheduled to leave, however, we returned from a walk to the most horrific experience I've had in nearly 50 years of travel, when the desk clerk stopped us and asked if we weren't supposed to have checked out that morning. We explained that no, our reservation, which the hotel had confirmed, was to depart the following day. My husband offered to retrieve the email showing the reservation, and that is when we learned that the staff had ransacked the room, packed our belongings for us -- mixing clean clothes with laundry, my husband's with mine, pottery we had bought crammed into suitcases -- and stowed our luggage next to the well-trafficked kitchen pantry, while they made room for a guest they said had booked the room for the next two weeks. We were on the street, wondering if we still had all of what we had come with, on what was supposed to be the final day to relish our vacation. It was a first. We found another hotel, and spent our trip's final hours recovering, and repacking.

Rm #1

We opened the windows and sat on our private patio. The parrots who live there climbed the greenery to our patio and we all chatted for a while. We give it a 10 on the charming scale. The other rooms are nice, but ordinary.

So Good!

Great place to stay. Everything -the staff, owners, food and beverages, bedrooms, landscaping- is great.

Most relaxing and pleasant stay

We spent four days the first time and came back after a trip to the beach for two more days. The women who run this hotel are accomodating and knowledgable about Nicaragua.

Loads of charm and friendly helpful staff

I felt at home, yet pampered. Granada is a magical place and Casa San Francisco was the best.
