When to go

High season for Granada tourism generally extends from mid-December through May. The months of January, February and March generally have the most pleasant weather.
Granada's main festivals occur during August. The "Tope de Toro," where bulls are let loose in the streets, occurs on the second Sunday of the month. The following Sunday is the "Desfile Hípico," a massive party centered around a horse parade. The Purísima celebration on December 8th is another massive festival.
Granada is also an excellent city to visit during Christmas: firecrackers fill the air and the whole city comes alive.
