KEEPING IN TOUCH
Nearly all of the city's hostels and hotels provide free internet and WiFi. There are also several Internet cafés in the downtown area, including one on Calle Estrada across from Hostal Oasis and another on Calle la Calzada three blocks down from Parque Central. There's a speedy and cheap laundromat called Mapache Laundry located two streets east of Parque Central, half a block up from Calle la Calzada. The post office is on Calle el Arsenal, two blocks east of Plaza de la Independencia.
TOURISM OFFICE
Granada also has an INTUR office to provide you with all the pamphlets you desire. It's located on Calle el Arsenal, one block east of Plaza de la Independencia.
MONEY
As expected for a city of this size and touristic importance, Granada has several banks and ATMs. Banco America Central (BAC) is on the corner of Calle Altravesada and La Libertad and has a 24-hour ATM that gives both U.S. dollars and Nicaragua córdobas. Another bank called BanPro is on Calle Atravesada. There’s an ATM at the Esso Gas Station, located along the main highway at the entrance into town. Inside the city itself, you can head to the ATM inside the Lacayo Supermarket on Calle Real Xalteva.
There are also money changers on the street, called coyotes, that exchange U.S. dollars and córdobas. You’ll find them near banks, plazas and markets. Most are honest and use the same exchange rate as banks, but be cautious and calculate the conversion before you make the exchange to ensure you’re getting a fair rate.
