Maracas Inn

The focus of the Maracas Inn is nearly all on business travelers and groups – this is not the place to go if your idea of a hotel involves the words “stylish” or “elegant.” The heavy coat of yellow paint, some lovely vases of flowers and nooks filled with El Gueguense masks and figures cannot overcome the sense that the Maracas is the Nicaraguan version of a Holiday Inn. Still, the hotel has found a niche and fills it well. Maracas is the perfect place to go if you need a comfortable bed, all the regular amenities (including a rather green looking pool that was scheduled to undergo a renovation in March 2009) and a conference facility. Maracas has four meeting rooms with air conditioning, audiovisual equipment and white boards. There are also discounts for groups and for longer stays.

Airport transportation (for USD$15 per person), lunch ($9 to $12) and dinners ($7) can be arranged.
