The great, white homage to a Mayan pyramid has been a Managua landmark for over 35 years. The hotel was one of the few buildings that the devastating 1972 earthquake failed to knock down and has been used by the foreign press and the Sandisista government. During a 2006 renovation, Crowne Plaza turned the hotel into a symbol of luxury as well. Crowne Plaza Managua's 140 executive rooms are elegant down to the last detail (such as a CD with relaxation suggestions) and the glittering downstairs includes a fitness center, casino (Casino Del Sol), club lounge, swimming pool, business center, two in-house restaurants and an area for renting cars, getting your hair done, shopping or arranging a tour. Once you check in, you might never want to leave again.
