Cafe Mirna

Cafe Mirna, located just a block and a half away from the Tica Bus station, is a little gem with all the charm of a neighborhood diner. Mirna serves cheap and tasty breakfasts and buffets, which makes the establishment a local favorite in Barrio Martha Quezada -- you might find yourself falling in love too. The cafe is decorated with panoramas of the world (along with a Human Rights poster and an Obama campaign shirt). There is a small seating area in a blue-tiled court yard and more seating just inside. The breakfast menu, in both English and Spanish, includes omlettes, pancakes and fruit, while the lunch menu varies from day to day. If you're hungry and waiting for a bus, Cafe Mirna is the perfect place to recharge. Open: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. with buffet served from noon to 2 p.m.
