For a hearty, budget meal around Barrio Martha Quezada, look for one of the numerous comedors and buffet restaurants. One of the best is Flora's Buffet. The restaurant may appear to be housed in a garage, but the interior is spacious, clean and cool, with comfortable wooden furniture and a bathroom. Flora's, like similar establishments, serves a wide, constantly changing, range of comida typica. On a given day, you might find the rice and bean combination gallo pinto, fried plantains and empanadas, as well as a selection of meat stews and salads. The price is determined by what you choose; you can generally get a full plate for between USD $5 - $6. Buffets are a good option for vegetarians, since they usually have a wide variety of salads and non-meat side dishes. Flora's also has sodas, juice and water, but no beer. The restaurant is open from 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and is closed Sunday.
