Managua’s concrete jungle is always scorching, although slightly more bearable between the end of the rainy season and start of the dry season (September to January). The capital celebrates two major festivals during the height of the dry season, the first two weeks of August (from 1 to 10) are dedicated to Santo Domingo de Guzman, the city’s patron saint, while Dia de la Revolucción is celebrated on July 19 in Managua’s historic center. Bring plenty of water if you plan to attend either event. Residents also honor the Virgin Mary on December, 7.
