If you plan on staying in one location for an extended period of time, renting an apartment is an option worth considering. Currently there are not a great deal of apartments to rent in Nicaragua (although the number is slowly increasing), so finding one to suit your needs will require doing some serious research, for which you may be richly rewarded. Staying in an apartment will provide you with more independence and privacy than a hotel and may also be the most economical choice if you’re traveling in a group. Apartments can cost as little as $20 a night, but make sure to check exactly where the property is, the quality of the accommodation and that the person advertising the apartment has the right to rent the space to you.
