Proyecto Ecológico is part of the Biological Station on the shore of the crater lake Laguna de Apoyo. Students learn Spanish through total immersion – four and a half hours a day of individual or small group Spanish lessons for five days each week. Students live in the same building where classes are taught. Lessons include activities such as nature hikes, meetings with local scientists and trips to local agriculture sites. The station prides itself on its beautiful natural setting and its meals – it gets many local, organic ingredients and caters to vegetarians.

Getting There: Public transportation and taxis are available from Granada or Masaya, and Proyecto Ecológico provides transportation to or from Managua for $45.
