Macuelizo
An entire kilometer of the snaking Macuelizo River is naturally heated. These untouched hot springs, part of private farmland, are completely undeveloped for tourism and in fact are not suitable for bathing. Nonetheless, with the help of a local guide, determined tourists can still enjoy the natural surroundings and feel the steam rising off the water.
Located an hour and a half from Ocotal, the springs cannot be reached by bus.
