El Astillero
The next public beach north of Guasacate, Astillero is a fishing bay and village. For surfing, there’s a beachbreak that’s surfable at low tide, but it is not the nicest beach for swimming as the waters are a little muddy. Vultures are a presence on the beach throughout the day, picking apart fish carcasses left by the fishermen. There is a boat launch on the southern end of the bay.
