The San Ram贸n Waterfall is a spectacular natural wonder, and one of the highlights of a trip to Ometepe. In June 2008 the path to the waterfall had been blocked by a recent landslide and was too dangerous to traverse. It was expected that the earth would be cleared within the next few months.
The waterfall is located about four kilometers from the village of San Ramon, on the southwestern slope of Volc谩n Maderas. The hike is a spectacular one, and the path that leads to the waterfalls is also one of the most popular trails for ascending the volcano, so combining the two makes a great all-day trip. Check local tour operators for the path's status and the possibility of a guided tour of them both.
Located on the southern tip of the island. See Getting Around for more info.
