Ometepe has several excellent independent tour operators, but nearly all are located in Moyogalpa. However, most of the island's hotels either feature their own tour agency, or are affiliated with one, so you shouldn't have difficulty arranging a tour wherever you are. It's absolutely essential to have a guide if you plan on ascending either volcano.
