The entrance into Rivas, along the Pan American Highway, is lined with a plethora of hostels and hotels. There are few distinctions between them. Most cost about $8 a night, are fairly clean, offer private rooms, and in some cases, private bathrooms. The establishments along the entrance to Rivas are good choice if you are only using the town as a transfer point. However, if you do intend on exploring Rivas for a couple days, it may be worth your while to head past the Texaco and even up to the Central Park for something more conveniently located.
