The surrounding beaches in the municipality of San Juan del Sur offer greet coral reefs and a variety of interesting and colorful tropical fish. From July to February, Olive Ridley turtles can be seen, and even dolphins, primarily during dry season. The best time for diving in San Juan del Sur, is from December to March, when the water is clearest. However, diving is still enjoyable year round.
