The official tourist information office in San Juan del Sur is the Casa de Promocion Municipal (Tel: 505-2568-3022, E-mail: secretariaturismosjs@gmail.com.) It is located on the west side of the Parque Central, and is open from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.There are three main banks in town, within four blocks of each other. All of the banks have 24 hour ATMs, although some are picky about which type of cards they take.

Internet cafés are plentiful, and most offer international calls and fax services. Free wireless Internet access is also common, and available at several bars and restaurants.

On the same block as the Municipal Market, there are a number of laundry services, which charge approximately $3.00-$5.00 per bag.

If you need to mail a letter or fill up your car, the post office is located near the port, at the south end of the beach and there is a 24-hour Texaco gas station on the east side of town.

There are a couple small pharmacies in town, and a Health Center as well. However, if you get very injured or sick, the nearest hospital is in Rivas.

For entertainment, look to one of the many shops in San Juan Del Sur that offer surf equipment, diving gear, boat or bicycle rentals. The area also has a  variety of tour operators and Spanish schools.
