The few remains of the once thriving port of Greytown, now buried in the jungle, lie just a 15-minute boat ride from town. All that is left standing are a couple of concrete foundations of colonial houses and the four cemeteries, one for the English, one for the Americans, one for the Catholics and another for the Freemasons. But the butterfly-filled site, attesting to long-buried dreams of conquests, makes for a nice visit on a sunny day. You can see the remains of a sunken steamship and one rusty dredge which still stands in the middle of a laguna.
