By Mike Karanicolas

Masaya has several attractive churches. Probably the nicest is the Iglesia de la Asuncion, a towering baroque building located in Parque Central. The Iglesia de San Jeronimo and Iglesia de San Sebastien are also worth a look. Iglesia San Miguel is also well-known, but the least impressive of the four. All of these buildings are far more impressive from the outside than within. If you show up to one and it's closed, I wouldn't worry about coming back later.
