This beachfront hotel has several shared rooms on the second floor. Ask for one with a private balcony. Otherwise, the shared balcony looking out over the beach is great to relax on as the sun sets on San Juan del Sur. The real beauty of this hotel is the location. Numerous restaurants and bars are within a block or two of Estrella and the beach is right across the road. Meals are available in the restaurant/bar located on the main floor. All rooms have fans but guests are advised to bring their own towels, mosquito nets and patience as there have been varied reviews of the service.
