Getting to and Away Chichigalpa
Buses between Chinandega and El Viejo leave from Mercado Santa Ana and the north side of the central park, respectively. Both regular buses (C$4, every 7 minutes, 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) and microbuses (C$5, when half full, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.) make the five minute trip between the two cities. At one p.m., daily, a single bus from the north side of the central park in El Viejo for the two hour, C$18 trip to Punta Ñata.
