This massive edifice is Central America's biggest cathedral, and is one of the highlights of a visit to Leon. From the outside it appears as just another great church, but the towering marble columns of the interior are enough to leave a visitor breathless. A stunning display of grand neo-classical architecture, the place is beautifully maintained, and the walls are decorated with exquisite frescoes. Absolutely not to be missed.
