This once-beautiful church was destroyed by the government's bombing of the city in 1979. A new building was hastily constructed next-door to house the church's icons, but it remains half-finished and open to the elements. The ruins themselves are rather unimpressive and derelict, only a few arches remain, and it's not particularly pleasant to walk through. Viva's reviewer actually saw a spent condom where the altar once stood, further pummeling the limits of bad taste.
