The best way to see Volcan Cerro Negro, this tour has it all. Run in the late afternoon, you head out to the volcano base then climb to a viewpoint over the steaming first crater. From there you continue to the top for a view over the entire volcano chain including San Cristobal in the distance, Casita and the smoking Telca. After a look into the second crater, where you can feel hot rocks and see rising steam and sulfur deposits, you watch the sunset then enjoy a fun, but not scary, downhill ride for 600m on a wooden board to the bottom. The volcano is expected to explode soon, but the tour operator is keeping tabs.

we went 2 weeks ago and there is no other experience like it out there for travelers......If you are going to do it, do it the best way.

Its crazy. Climb to the top of a active Volcano, fly down it at 60 km per hour on a board....say no more.
