The owner of this very purple place is very friendly and organized, right down to her informative booklet-pick up a copy in any one of the bathrooms-explaining herself and the hostel's background.

The purpose-built hostel, which has a nice garden area with hammocks and chairs and a comfortable communal area inside, is a little out of town, but is ideal for catching buses to Cerro Punta.

Dorms and rooms are clean and spacious with solid beds and a choice of facilities. The kitchen is a good size, there is limited free internet and the owner offers great advice on what to do in the area.

Higher:$17-21 rooms

It was reasonably priced, but the owner didn't leave you alone. Stay elsewhere!!!

I would say if your looking for a really really quite nite, then stay here, however, the owner is so busy telling you the rules she forgets about her business..I don't recommend it.

The Purple House Hostel is very proud of its excellent reputation of over 6 years (and still going strong!) of being a friendly, clean, safe, hostel amongst backpackers from all over the world. The hostel is a really fun place where guests kick back, relax, socialize and swap travel and other very helpful information. Like all hostels, we have some basic guidelines of common courtesy to insure that ALL guests are able to enjoy their stay. That’s why we request that you smoke in designated smoking areas and we suggest that you show consideration about noise when other guests are sleeping.
