This square of the city was cleared out by the 1781 fire. It was originally used for bull fights before being renamed for one of Panama's independence heroes. The square is lined with beautiful crumbling buildings, including the Edificio la Reformada, which was Panama's first reinforced concrete building and the tallest building in the country when it was constructed in 1920.
