Set back from the sea, opposite Las Brisas hostel, this smart new place is impressive. The friendly owner is often there to greet you with the day's specials and claims to have the best food on the island. Plates are pretty standard and while there is no view of the water the big curved serving bar and the raised dining area make for a pleasant evening when the place gets busy. They also offer the widest selection of breakfasts you can find, with an American fry-up or a variety of omelets, pancakes and French toast.

Bernard's Pargo Rojo

LOVED this place.  6 family members were looking for an adventure but a comfortable and inexpensive place to lay our heads.  What we got was so much island love from Bernard and his staff.  This is not a place for the finicky, and while the food may not be fast, it's well worth the wait.  We met the kindest people at Pargo Rojo and Bernard is a really special guy.  High recommend!

Don't believe the hype

Bocas Del Toro is supposed to be a pretty inexpensive place insofar as eats, right? Well, someone needs to tell that to the owner of the PR. I waited 2 HOURS for my meal to show. When it did appear,it was colder than a supermodel's stare at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Then they had the audacity to act rude to me when I explained to my waiter why I wasn't leaving a tip. I don't really recommend this place...in fact, you should avoid this place like the wallet swiping plague it is.
