Hotel Bécquer is extremely well located, right in the heart of all of the best that Seville has to offer. The current hotel was built in 1972-3, but they used some fixtures from an older hotel, which gives the place a more elegant, traditional feel. It was also significantly enlarged in 1996. It is named after a very famous Spanish writer of the Romantic era.

The rooms are quite nice, with cable TV, air conditioning and tasteful decoration. The hotel features restaurants and bars as well, which are quite good, although I must confess that I saw a waiter doing battle with a cockroach while we were there for the breakfast buffet. They assured me they would fix this problem: if they have, it’s a good place to stay.
