Hotel

By Kristen Manning

A cosy budget hotel only a couple of blocks back from bustling Oxford Street - and ideally placed for those wishing to walk London instead of using public transport - the Edward Lear boasts a history it is proud of. Once the home to the famous writer Edward Lear, it is by no means luxurious but the rooms are spacious and tidy. Beware of higher levels though - tight stair case is a struggle at the end of a long day! Surprisingly quiet considering its busy location, the Edward Lear is staffed by friendly and helpful fellow tourists (many Australians!) and there is free (ableit slow) internet access in the lounge. Breakfast is served in a limited time period but is plentiful and tasty. As far as cheaper hotels in London go, the Edward Lear is a bargain - but be wary of the communal showers, they are not soothing after a long flight!
