Western Pampa

The word pampa comes from the Quechua word “bamba” meaning “plain.” And that's pretty much all you are going to find in the Western Pampas...lots of empty space. Being an agricultural region, there is very little in the way of industry or tourism here, although there are a few ranches that accept visitors and tourists for overnight stays the majority of the farmers and ranches are actual functioning farms and don't permit outside visitors. However the picturesque farms can make for some beautiful scenery and the Parque Nacional Quebrada del Condorito offers some decent, low excretion hiking. Here, you'll have the opportunity to see some interesting wildlife, such as armadillos, a variety of birds and the highly venomous pit vipers.
