For any rock and roll fan there may not be a better destination in the world than the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. As a huge rock fan, I made my pilgrimage there a couple of years ago.

The Continental Hyatt House, where I stayed, is the place for touring rock bands to spend the night when in LA.  Walking through the hallways, I felt as though Led Zeppelin himself could come barreling through the door. With views of both the strip and the Hollywood Hills I lounged by the rooftop pool and pretended to be a rock star.

For dinner on Sunset Strip there's only one place any rock fan can go, The Rainbow. The Rainbow has been legendary for generations. The Restaurant and club has been a favorite of rock bands for generation, and this is apparent through its treasure trough of rock and roll memerobila from some of it's most famous customers. Don't confuse this place with The Hard Rock Cafe though, where you pay for the atmosphere and not the food. The Rainbow is known for having some of the best food in all of Los Angeles. I had the prime rib and was rather impressed by it.

After a good meal I went to check out some of the most famous rock and roll clubs in the world. On a week night on the strip the clubs will usually have a large number of bands playing till closing time and ask for only a small cover charge for the whole night. The first club I visited was The Roxy. Though not huge, The Roxy has a great stage setup and I enjoyed watching a couple of acts. Next I checked out The Troubador, which is just one block off the strip but is a top notch club that caters to a little bit more of a hard rock crowd. The drinks aren't overly expensive here and the atmosphere is charged. Finally I made my way to the mecca of rock and roll clubs, The Whisky. Any band that has ever made it out of Los Angeles has almost certainly played the Whisky. Pictures of all the acts that have played there line the walls and it is incredibly impressive. I spent the rest of my night at The Whisky and really enjoyed it. My night on the strip turned out to be everything I hoped for and more.
