Cultural Tour

By V!VA user

All my life I've grown up surrounded by the hispanic language and the cultural differences between my Cuban father and my American mother. I've never understood just how powerful it is to wander the streets surrounded by one's people and heritage.

I wandered through the park peppered with white haired men smoking cigars and reliving the good old days before the revolution. These men, united on stone benches, shared one dream: the pursuit of freedom.

It was not until I met these Cuban refugees seeking political asylum in Miami's Little Havana that I truly understood my family.
