BUSING THROUGH ARGENTINA
More economic than airfare or renting a car, bus transportation in Argentina is the most comfortable option for long journeys. First class, or differential services offer comfortable reclining seats, meals, movies and other amenities. Stretch your legs and let the scenery of the country marvel you from one destination to the next.
WHERE TO CATCH THE BUS
There are plenty of bus companies to choose from, all of which are based on the Estación Terminal de Omnibus in Buenos Aires, so it’s easy to inquire about fares and compare services.
BUS VS. PLANE
For a trip to Iguazú Falls, for example, an airplane ticket might be able to take you in less than two hours for about $200 each way, while a roundtrip bus ticket will be around $80 for 16 hours of sightseeing through the window of a comfortable luxury bus, including meals and amicable service.
BUSING WITHIN CITIES
As for bus services within cities, Argentineans use colectivos or microómnibuses to get around without hassle. Each stop signals the routes covered by buses that will be stopping there and the fare is given to the driver, which means there is not need for exact change. In Buenos Aires, the bus service labeled diferencial provides more comfortable seats than the regular service and only stops if there are seats available.
