When attempting to use your personal cellular phone brought from home, check with your current provider to ensure it will function in Argentina – also be prepared to pay fees for international use. At times text messages have no additional fees, though this is something determined by your service provider. Many cell phones from the United States do not work outside of bigger Argentine cities so the best option is generally a phone center that offers local/international calls.
