Departure Tax
In Buenos Aires, like numerous other airports throughout South America, travelers departing on an international flight are expected to pay a departure tax. The cost in Argentine pesos is 56 or the equivalent of approximately US$19. For those on flights to Montevideo or Punta del Este the tax is reduced to AR$25. There are two booths in the airport where you can pay this fee. Argentine pesos and U.S. dollars are accepted.
