Getting To and Away From Argentina By Land

There is plentiful international bus service from neighboring countries, with Santiago de Chile to Mendoza being the most popular (there are also the faster but more expensive taxi colectivos that do this route).

It is also possible to reach Argentina from Colombia, Peru and Ecuador on international bus services. These international buses tend to cater to backpackers by offering reclining seats, on-board restrooms, air conditioning, meals, refreshments and storage under the bus for bags. Some make scheduled meal breaks as well.

There is also shorter distance public transportation available at more trafficked border crossings with Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
