Economy & Politics
Argentina has the third biggest economy in Latin America behind Brazil and Mexico. That said, Argentina’s economy has undergone something of a rollercoaster ride over the past decade and is still recovering from the devastation of the economic meltdown that began in 1999. The government of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner is set to continue the economic policies of her husband and former president, Nestor de Kirchner, in seeking to maintain Argentina’s economic growth, avoid excessive inflation and more generally, avoid a repetition of the country’s boom-bust experiences.
The Argentine economy has had a diverse history and its past still resonates in various industries today.
