Travelers with a bit of money to toss around can have a lot of fun in Argentina. While it is technically one of the more expensive nations in South America, it is less than Chile and Brazil, allowing travelers to get some bang for their buck. Hostels offer private rooms for one or two people for a fraction of the cost of a hotel. Couples can get a perfectly adequate bedroom with a private bathroom for approximately $25-35 per night. Mid-range travelers do not have to cook for themselves, and can indulge at local steakhouses that offer mouth-watering slabs of various cuts of world-famous Argentine beef for as little as $10 in some restaurants. At clubs and bars, a liter of beer can be purchased for $3 while bottles of Argentine wine are significantly less than in the United States and Europe. Also there is generally room in the budget for a ski trip, guided-mountain climb, rafting expedition or waterfall boat ride at Las Cataratas.
