Food

By Laura Granfortuna

Argentina is known for its vast meat consumption, but don´t fret, there are vegetarian options out there. Lucky for you, Argentina has a substantial Italian influence, which means pasta, pizza and calzones.  Plus, you can usually get a salad or a vegetable side like squash, eggplant or potato.

In the bigger cities there are bound to be at least a few restaurants geared toward vegetarians, but if you don’t feel like searching on foot, sites like HappyCow are useful for locating vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurants wherever you happen to be. But unfortunately, if you´re vegan you´re generally going to have a tough time finding food here.
