Transportation

By Lorena Fernández

The strategic location of Bahía Blanca allows for an easy access to the city in virtually any type of transportation of your choice. Coming from the east, there are 1076 km between Bahía Blanca and Bariloche; from Viedma in the south there are 248 km the so-called white bay; 463 km to Mar del Plata to the west, 685 km to Buenos Aires on the northwest and 326 km to Santa Rosa on the northeast.

Two airlines – Aerolíneas Agentinas and Lade – have regular flights to and from Bahía Blanca and around 18 ground transportation companies include the city in their destination list. All ground transportation in the city takes off from Terminal de Omnibus. Finally, the Ferro Express Pampeano is the railroad line that goes through Bahía Blanca. Make sure to check with your company of choice if you decide to take a bus, as some companies only offer services on the high season and close for the rest of the year.
